In eCargo Web, you need to set up dangerous goods and safety information before creating jobs that contain dangerous goods.
To set up dangerous goods, a user at your business must have dangerous goods administration authorisation. If this isn't the case, contact eCargo Support who can get you set up.
Step 1 - Set up Dangerous Goods Safety Information
Safety information describes how to handle a dangerous item (and what to do in an emergency), and will be printed on the job's Dangerous Goods Declaration document.
Logistics providers can set up safety information for all their customers to use, or customers can set up their own (provided they have access to do so).
Locate safety information
You can find existing safety information in Safety Information Maintenance under the Admin section of eCargo Web.
Tip: Searching with a blank category will show you all existing safety information.
Clicking on a safety information entry allows you to change its details.
Add New Safety Information allows you to add information to be printed on a dangerous goods declaration, as well as a summary to help you identify it.
Step 2 - Set up Dangerous Goods Items
Locate dangerous goods items
You can find existing dangerous goods items in Dangerous Item Maintenance under the Admin section of eCargo Web.
Tip: Searching with a blank category will show you all existing dangerous goods.
Clicking on a dangerous goods item allows you to change its details.
Add a new dangerous goods item
Add A New Item allows you to enter details about the dangerous good. In the Safety Information tab, you can link the safety information you created in Step 1.
Edit safety information, and click the '+' next to the relevant safety information to add it to the item. You can add multiple safety information entries if needed.
Step 3 - Create Dangerous Goods job
Create a job as you normally would, and add the dangerous goods item to it.
Step 4 - Print the Dangerous Goods Declaration to accompany the job or manifest
A Dangerous Goods Declaration can be printed from both eCargo Premium and eCargo Web following the steps for printing documentation.
