Freight rates are used to calculate the cost of a completed freight job. This is used for invoicing and reporting in eCargo.

Rate cards
Freight rates are calculated using rate cards - these specify what rate should be used in different scenarios (e.g. different customers and carriers).
See Importing and updating rates for how rate cards are structured, and how you import them into eCargo.
Rating zones
The cost of a freight job is affected by rating zones - geographic regions which rates are applied to.
See Rating zones and zone mapping for how to specify what these regions are.
Fuel surcharge
A fuel surcharge is an extra charge that is added onto a calculated freight charge. This is used to reflect the varying cost of fuel.
See Fuel surcharges for how to add and change fuel surcharges.
