The web version of the eCargo software, where users can manage their accounts and do back-office tasks - as well as update jobs using Web Dispatch. |

Carrier |
The transporter for goods on a freight job. |
Dispatcher |
The dispatcher of goods. They create and are the owner of freight jobs. |
Logistics provider |
Responsible for back-office tasks, like admin and invoicing. They may also be the dispatcher, depending on how the business works. |
The job |

Consignment |
AKA a job or freight job |
Delivery |
AKA a job or freight job |
Delivery business (destination) |
The business that items in a freight job are delivered to. |
Documentation |
Documents that can be printed from eCargo (e.g. labels and manifest notes) |
Freight job (job) |
Job created within eCargo of items to be picked up by a carrier and delivered to a delivery business. |
Items |
The items to be delivered as part of the freight job. |
Load |
Summary of items within the freight job. |
Manifest |
Freight jobs that have been grouped together by the dispatcher (this might be done because they are on the same vehicle). |
Protection type |
Protection/temperature requirement needed for items during delivery (ambient, chilled, or frozen). |
Rollback |
The ability to roll a job back a step - taking it back to its previous status. |
Subcontractor |
Carriers may subcontract delivery to another company - e.g. a subcontractor might specialise in delivering specific items or protection types. |
Back-office |

Allowed variance |
A tolerance to cater for small differences between the calculated charge in eCargo and the invoiced charge from the carrier. |
Auto carriers |
Carriers who are automatically assigned a job based on business rules. |
Business rules |
Used to automate tasks in eCargo (e.g. auto carriers). Business rules can be set up by logistics providers. |
Freight rates |
Rates used to calculate the cost of a completed freight job. |
Fuel surcharge |
An extra charge to reflect the varying cost of fuel. |
Lead Time |
The time when products must be delivered by. |
Mandatory Units of Measure |
Units of measure that are required when adding goods to a new job. |
Rate cards |
The assigned rate for a job based on criteria like date, dispatcher, and carrier. |
Rating zone |
Geographic region used to apply freight rates. |
Zone mapping |
Data specifying which areas are part of which rating zones. |
