To implement Dangerous Goods, your company Dangerous Goods detail needs to be setup.
A nominated user will require the eCargo Dangerous Goods Administration authorisation (DANGEROUS_GOODS_ADMIN) to add this detail.

Users must setup Dangerous Goods detail in the following order:
- Setup company Dangerous Goods Safety Information
- Setup comapny Dangerous Goods Items
- When ready create Dangerous Goods Consignments
- Print the DG Declarations to accompany the Consignment or manifest.
Safety Information relating to Dangerous Goods must be setup prior to adding Dangerous Goods Items.
This Material Data Safety Sheet information describes how to handle the item/product in case of emergency, etc and will be printed on the consignments Dangerous Goods Declaration document.
Only Authorised user's (setup by eCargo Support) can maintain Safety Information.
Owners of the Safety Information records are displayed. A Logistic Provider can set Safety Information up that all their Customers can use or the Customer can create their own.
Finding your Safety Information
Enter in all or part of your Category criteria (Eg. First Aid, etc) or leave blank and use 'Search' to find existing Safety Information to view/maintain.
Adding New Safety Information
Use 'Add New Safety Information' option to add new safety category detail.
Maintaining your Safety Information
Take your cursor over the line you wish to maintain (note - line will be highlighted blue) and click/enter.
Category is related information under which safety information will be grouped Eg. First Aid
Select an existing Category via drop down arrow list or add new by simply typing into the field and this will save to the Category list.
Enter the safety information required to be printed on the Dangerous Goods Declaration form.
This is a short name/summary field that safety categories and safety detail can be identified by within the Dangerous Items Maintenance screen.
This field will default on the fly as you enter the Category and Detail or you can customise and create your own.
Any 'Dangerous Goods Linked to this Safety Information Entry' will be listed on maintenance screen.
Use 'Save' to save the newly maintained Safety Information.
Use 'Cancel' to ignore changes to that Safety Information.
Use 'Deactivate' to stop/deactivate this information from being used further.
Dangerous Goods Item Maintenance
Dangerous Goods Items are created, Safety Information is applied to the items, the items are then available to use within consignments.
Only authorised user's (setup by eCargo Support) can maintain Dangerous Goods Items.
Items added are owned by the business that creates them. 'Link' informs the user that the item has been made available as a consignment product item.
The Owner of the Dangerous Item record is displayed for reference.
A Logistic Provider can setup Dangerous Items, these then are available for their Customers to use or their customers themselves can create their own.
Finding your Dangerous Goods Items
Enter in allor part of the require Name (Eg. Aerosols, etc) or leave blank and use 'Search' to find existing Dangerous Items to view/maintain.
Adding New Dangerous Goods Items
Use the 'Add New Item' option to add new Dangerous Goods items.
Maintaining Dangerous Goods Items
Take your curosr over the line you wish to maintain (note - line will be highlighted blue) and click/enter.
A new dangerous goods Item name is creatred prefixing 'DG' to aid recognition of Dangerous Goods items within Premium Consignments.
This is the common recognisable name for the item.
Proper Shipping Name:
Some Dangerous Items hold a correct/proper shipping name.
Dangerous/Hazardous Goods Identifications:
- Hazard Class - Select from list or add in new (refer to 'Add a New Hazard Class' below)
- Subsidiary Risk
- Hazchem Code
- Packing Group
- Marine Pollutant
Specific dangerous/hazardous goods information is required for ERMA standards. Some fields are mandatory fields for entry.
All items must have a Common Name and a Proper Shipping name. The displayed Item name is added automatically with 'DG:' as prefix and then the common name.
Use 'Save' to save the newly maintained Dangerous Item.
Use 'Cancel' to ignore changes to that Dangerous Item.
Use 'Delete' to remove the Dangerous Item. Note: Only the owner of that item can delete that item.
Add a New Hazard Class
Enter in the class intot the 'New Hazard Class' fields and click 'Create'.
Premium - Dangerous Goods Consignments
All Dangerous Goods consignments will be flagged/ticked as Hazardous Goods and hold an identifiable Dangerous Goods item name as below.
Creating a Dangerous Goods Consignment
Simply select a Dangerous Goods item from the [...] Item Select window.
All Dangerous Goods items are easily identified by 'DG:' to the beginning of the item name.
When a Dangerous Goods item is selected the consignment will automatically be flagged as a Dangerous/Hazardous Goods consignment. (Ticked Hazardous Goods field as per Job Details screenshot above)
Once the consignment is saved a Dangerous Goods Declaration can be printed.
Printing a Dangerous Goods Declaration
To print a Dangerous Goods Declaration, right click on the summary line to access options menu, select 'Print DG Declaration'. This will take the user to the Online 'Dangerous Goods Print' page where the consignment number will default for printing.
Dangerous Goods Print
Dangerous Goods Print is available Online within the Dispatch menu or can be accessed via Premium Print for a consignment.
If accessing Dangerous Goods Print via Online, allows the user to enter in and search for consignment numbers when required.
If accessing/seleting 'Print DG Declaration' from within Premium Consignments, will place the user within Dangerous Goods Print Online where the relevant consignment number will be automatically defaulted and the consignment defaulted and the consignment detail displayed.
Use 'Edit' to add in Additional Information to print on the Dangerous Goods Declaration/Data Sheet if required.
Use 'PDF' to generate the Dangerous Goods Declaration/Data Sheet where the user can then Print or Save to a directory.
DG Declaration Forms
DG Declaration Print will be default print a page with the Dangerous Goods Information and a seperate page with Safety Information although a compact one page version is also available.
