As a carrier using eCargo your main tasks are to allocate vehicles and confirm delivery on consignments. There are also a number of other useful features you may wish to make use of.
Your eCargo Summary screen will show you all deliveries that have been assigned to you as the prime carrier or sub-contractor. These consignments are summarised by pickup business and status.
Clicking on either the pickup site or job counts by status will display the consignments. You'll find a detailed overview of eCargo Premium here.
Allocating a vehicle
By allocating a vehicle to a consignment you are effectively confirming to your customer that you've seen the job and you can pick it up. If you don't know the exact vehicle name or number at the time you simply enter your company initials as a default vehicle, then come back later and update the vehicle name once known.
To view jobs requiring vehicle allocation click on the job counts in the Allocate Vehicle status in the Summary screen. To view all jobs in this status click on the count in the Total row. This will take you to the Details screen listing all the consignments based on your selection.
There are two ways to allocate a vehicle:
1. Enter vehicle name directly into the vehicle field:
2. Right click on the job(s) and select Allocate vehicle. The advantage of this option is that you can allocate the same vehicle to multiple jobs at once:
Once allocated don't forget to Save. This will change the status of the jobs to Confirm Dispatch. The vehicle can still be changed after initial allocation.
Consignment notes, manifests notes, pallet labels and dangerous goods declarations can all be printed for the selected jobs from the right click menu.
You can create manifests for multiple jobs and use the manifest notes for printing. More details here.
Once a job has been confirmed as picked up, it needs to be confirmed as delivered to the final destination. To do this right click on the job(s) to be delivered, as per allocate vehicle process, then enter the actual delivery date and time. Note unless you wish to track waiting times you only need to enter the Arrival time.
If there were issues with damaged or missing goods click the Alter Quantities Delivered option and change the unit of measure values as appropriate. This will flag the consignment for DIFOT exception reporting.
